Alice in the Jungle Review

Alice in the Jungle is a 1925 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a solid short.

Alice and Julius are in the jungle in this cartoon. So many crazy things happen to them while there, most coming out of nowhere and being disconnected from others in a typical Alice Comedies fashion. Though I do get why some would dislike this movie as it’s chaotic and forgettable, I liked it for what it is, which is a fun romp.

The animation is pretty strong here and Alice is more proactive than usual. Julius is quite memorable and there are a couple of scenes toward the end that are quite adventurous and visually striking with the cave scene being the highlight. It’s such a fun, though obviously nonsensical and silly cartoon.

Alice in the Jungle is as chaotic as usual for the series, but it’s a solid cartoon that features some solid adventurous moments.

My Rating – 3.5
