Alice in the Big League Review

Alice in the Big League Review

Alice in the Big League is a 1927 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a fine entry.

Alice attempts to umpire a big league baseball game where the animals begin to take exception to her bad calls. This flick features an uninspired sports storyline with baseball being boring as always to watch. The action and humor are not great here, but at least Alice is more present in this short.

The highlight of this particular cartoon is the animation that is particularly polished this time around. I watched the version on YouTube and it looked phenomenal. The character designs are also terrific. I just wished for a stronger storyline and better characterization.

Alice in the Big League is visually excellent, but featuring weak plot and characterization. It was the last Alice Comedies short to be released.

My Rating – 3.4
