Alice on the Farm Review

Alice on the Farm Review

Alice on the Farm is a 1926 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a forgettable short.

While Julius is milking his cow, Pete kidnaps Alice. Julius gives chase and winds up in a duel with Pete. This is another cartoon where Alice was sidelined and Julius was effectively the main character. The final section where he fought Pete was the highlight as the action was solidly executed there.

The rest of the cartoon, however, fared much worse. The farm gags were uninspired and for the most part the animation was far from polished or artistic in any way. The farm setting was underutilized at the end of the day.

Alice on the Farm has a solid third act with fun action, but the rest of the short is uninspired in plot and barely utilizing its farm setting.

My Rating – 3.4
