Three Little Bops Review

Three Little Bops is a 1957 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid musical flick.

This is another Three Little Pigs adaptation that is a musical, but this time around it’s a modern jazzy version. I personally am not a big fan of jazz, so of course this movie thus did not appeal to me as much as the classic Disney version from the thirties did. The music is still strong and very well realized in the context of the cartoon action, but still it wasn’t my cup of tea per say.

The animation is excellent. I continue to appreciate the different, more angular pigs’ designs done by this series and the wolf also looked great. Most of the cartoon isn’t all that memorable in storytelling, but the final section is excellent. This is where the wolf joins their band, but in a very fantastical manner, and I loved how it all turned out. He’s the character highlight here for sure.

Three Little Bops doesn’t have that memorable plot nor music, but the characters are solid, the animation is great and the finale is terrific.

My Rating – 4
