Tweet Zoo Review

Tweet Zoo Review

Tweet Zoo is a 1957 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid zoo-themed Sylvester and Tweety flick.

This is quite possibly the first zoo setting for the Sylvester series, and instantly that made a difference from the usual house setting, and led to some refreshing sequences with other animals in the zoo. While I would personally contend that more authentic and hilarious gags could have been present here and that ending is definitely not all that amusing, most of the short still works.

The highlight is Sylvester who is here quite daring in his attempts to catch Tweety. The bird is per usual pretty witty with his remarks, but it is the cat who is the highlight of the picture. The second half, besides that ending, is better than the first one as the alligator scenes are very well executed throughout.

Tweet Zoo could have been funnier, but the zoo setting made for a clear difference from others in the series with the mid section being particularly strong.

My Rating – 4
