Trip for Tat Review

Trip for Tat is a 1960 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a pretty solid entry despite its filler material.

This is basically an entry that consists entirely of previously used material from many famous Tweety and Sylvester shorts. These are all tied by that opening sequence that tells us that Granny is going on a big vacation through many different countries. Obviously, this movie is utterly unnecessary and highly lazy.

However, how it was all connected was actually quite clever and they did use some of the best cartoons from this duo. There are so many terrific moments to be had here with these iconic characters and the movie acts as a charming travelogue in a way. The animation is gorgeous as well.

Trip for Tat is pretty good as fillers go. It’s obviously extremely lazy, but it’s well connected and the animation is beautiful.

My Rating – 3.3
