The Spy Swatter Review

The Spy Swatter is a 1967 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak short.

After a mouse scientist invents a cheese than can strengthen mice to defeat cats, Daffy Duck is ordered to stop Speedy Gonzales before he can deliver the formula. This is another unfortunately forgettable and boring Looney Tunes cartoon where nothing of interest happens.

It is fascinating to see the obsession from this writing and animation team with gadgetry as suddenly the majority of these shorts are centered around inventions. But the problem here is that this type of storyline is best suited for Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote and not these two characters. It’s a reasonably diverting and well animated short, but one that makes no sense as Sylvester is much better suited for this role than Daffy himself.

The Spy Swatter is another weak Looney Tunes cartoon with a silly scenario and a badly cast Daffy in the main role.

My Rating – 3
