The Music Mice-Tro is a 1967 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is another weak short.
Daffy Duck falls victim to being tormented by Speedy Gonzales and two other mice who form a band and he wants to put a stop to it. The music-centered cartoon that doesn’t utilize music well at all, this was another tiresome Daffy/Speedy outing that was only elevated by one sequence where Daffy and Speedy had a great, amusing dynamic.
But that’s pretty much it. The rest of the cartoon is totally uninspired and lacking any well executed or memorable gags. The second half was particularly problematic as it didn’t have a strong conclusion and this is my main issue with most of this period’s shorts – they didn’t even know how to end them with a banger. The animation is fine, but the score left a lot to be desired.
Saying that this cartoon is “weakly made and totally uninspired” but giving it a 4.6 rating does not really make sense to me. Was the 4.6 a typo?
