Quacker Tracker Review

Quacker Tracker Review

Quacker Tracker is a 1967 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak short.

The Tooth & Nail Hunting Society is offering a reward to anyone who can bag their only missing trophy, Speedy Gonzales. Daffy’s just the fool to do it. The duck proceeds to try various tactics to catch the mouse, but obviously he fails miserably at every one of them. My main problem with this short is that it had some potential in its premise as the imagery of Daffy on a hunt with all these devices was somewhat amusing and memorable.

But ultimately the short did not go anywhere as is the case with most of this period’s shorts. None of the gags were particularly well executed and/or funny. In fact, they were lazy and boring. Speedy is just as forgettable as ever here and the ending left a lot to be desired in terms of memorable imagery and humor.

Quacker Tracker is another weak Daffy/Speedy short with a solid premise, but mediocre execution throughout.

My Rating – 3
