Stupor Duck Review

Stupor Duck Review

Stupor Duck is a 1956 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty funny flick.

This is basically a parody of Superman, and probably the 40s cartoon version to be exact. Daffy works as a journalist, but when he hears on a TV soap opera that there is a big villain around, he dons the cape and pursues him. That plot itself is hilarious as this is exactly what Daffy would do in this situation, so it’s very in line with his silly self.

He is incredible, very funny and wildly entertaining to follow around the world looking for the imaginary villain. The animation is excellent and the dialogue is superb. The only problem here is that the situations that he gets himself into aren’t as funny as they could have been. They are fine, but more could have been done with the middle section of the movie by maybe introducing another character into the proceedings.

Stupor Dick is a very funny Daffy Duck short that benefits from the hilarious duck at the center and great dialogue to counteract the somewhat weaker action.

My Rating – 4
