Rabbit’s Kin ReviewRabbit’s Kin Review

Rabbit’s Kin is a 1952 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a weaker flick.

Bugs rescues a young rabbit from Pete Puma and gives lessons on how to heckle. Needless to say, it’s a very random, odd flick with some new characters juxtaposed with the already established Bugs. I found Pete Puma somewhat annoying, though overall fine for what he is. The little one is cute, though again far from truly memorable.

Bugs is great here as he almost always is. However, I found his inclusion here very strange. But the film does best when dealing with the puma and Bugs tricking him. I found that entire third act a lot of fun. The flick’s frenetic, but definitely entertaining. I just wish it was more memorable and more sophisticated.

Rabbit’s Kin has its fun moments and character interactions, but it’s way too odd as a whole.

My Rating – 3.9
