Alice’s Wild West Show is a 1924 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a flawed short.

Alice and her friends put on a show centered around Indians with Alice put in the role of a cowgirl. My main issue with this short is that it was much better in the live-action than in the animated segments. The former were quite fun while the latter were forgettable and dated.

The ending was also troublesome as she basically beats up a boy just for not putting up with her show. This is a short that centered on the western genre with Indians and a lot of shooting, so of course it was never going to be timeless, but at least it’s reasonably charming in the first half and the movie was technically so well edited and shot.

Alice’s Wild West Show is well made, but it centered on Alice at her most unlikable with the western elements being dated.
