Alice the Fire Fighter Review

Alice the Fire Fighter Review

Alice the Fire Fighter is a 1926 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a pretty solid flick.

Julius and his friends must put out a fire that engulfed the hotel and save its residents. This is a better than average entry in the series due to its solidly utilized setting and premise throughout. Yes, it had a weaker ending, but the majority of it worked as some gags are quite good and Julius was a memorable hero.

The highlight of the film was the moment when they moved the entire building for Julius to reach it properly instead of just moving his ladder next to the building. That was a hilarious moment of cartoon logic that really worked and I wished for the rest of the movie to have been as ingenious. The animation is not great here, but at least the overall action was solid.

Alice the Fire Fighter has a memorable Julius and some very solid gags, though the animation and the ending left a lot to be desired.

My Rating – 3.7
