The Honey-Mousers Review

The Honey-Mousers Review

The Honey-Mousers is a 1956 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a forgettable short.

The Honey-Mousers are starved for food and a cat stands between them and the refrigerator. Ralph and his friend concoct unsuccessful cat-passing techniques, the best being a Trojan dog made from a barrel. The ending of this cartoon is pretty good and most of the second half worked, but the first one was not memorable.

Unlike last Warner Bros. cartoon that featured new characters, but funnier gags, this one has new, but uninteresting characters and gags that are far from great. The animation is also only passable. The fact that the mice and the cat are involved also made it very clichéd and like so many similar cartoons of this period.

The Honey-Mousers doesn’t differentiate itself from other cat and mouse cartoons of this period. It’s forgettable.

My Rating – 3.4
