Stork Naked Review

Stork Naked Review

Stork Naked is a 1955 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a solid short.

This flick is all about Daffy Duck’s unwillingness to become a parent. He goes so far as to chase and kick the stork out in order to stop him from bringing him and his wife a baby. This movie is disappointing in its gags. Some of them worked, but still they lacked ingenuity and overall it was a missed opportunity as the premise demanded great action.

Still though, Daffy is amazing here. He is so funny and devious and I liked him a lot in this role of a bad husband. The stork himself is also excellent with the first act that belongs entirely to him being the highlight of the movie, especially the moment where he becomes tipsy is quite amusing. The animation overall is very endearing as is the film’s lightweight tone.

Stork Naked could have been even better, but it’s well animated, charming and so much fun in its great premise alone.

My Rating – 3.8
