Spaced Out Bunny Review

Spaced Out Bunny is a 1980 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series.

Bugs Bunny is abducted by Marvin the Martian and brought to Mars to be the companion to his pet abominable snowman Hugo, who will “hug him and squeeze him and call him George.” This is a pretty solid Marvin the Martian/Bugs Bunny short. It’s far from their best outings, but it’s reasonably diverting nonetheless.

The animation is very cheap this time around. It’s the worst aspect of this very technically unpolished flick. Marvin is also too easily fooled here, which simply wasn’t in character for him. But Bugs being so conniving worked and that snowman was brought back from one solid previous movie and he was a lot of fun himself. The dynamic between the two was amusing.

Spaced Out Bunny is badly animated and Marvin wasn’t great here, but Bugs was terrific and the overall plot and its ending worked.

My Rating – 3.5
