South ParQ Vaccination Special Review

South ParQ Vaccination Special is a 2021 special episode for the television series South Park. It’s inferior to its predecessor, but it is still quite good.

The main reason why this one is inferior lies in the annoying QAnon storyline. Yes, it’s politically biased to focus only on this stupid organization, but my problem with Hollywood’s insistence on lampooning these dumb people is that it never works. It’s just not funny. Making fun of already overly dumb people is never funny and this was just another example that this doesn’t work. Still, I don’t want to focus on the bad when there is so much good here.

Garrison returning was great. Finally seeing the real Garrison was terrific and he was quite amusing at times. The kids are also strong and their “broship” was hilariously made fun of. The entire subplot with them not wanting Kenny to know that they split up was hysterical with this being one of the best uses of Kenny in quite a while. I also loved the fact that this one did not include Randy for once, that was refreshing. The highlight was the vaccination itself. Seeing all the elderly of South Park make fun of all the youngsters for getting the first shot was absolutely hilarious and done in that typical, over-the-top, brutal SP fashion that I just adore.

South ParQ Vaccination Special is annoying in the QAnon storyline, but the vaccination jokes were funny, Kenny was so well used and seeing Garrison back was delightful.

My Rating – 4
