Salmon Pink Review

Salmon Pink Review

Salmon Pink is a 1975 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

The Pink Panther meets a friendly salmon at the beach and keeps him as a pet. This is one of those animated films that feature a different animal behaving entirely as a dog with the barks and tail wiggling and everything. Needless to say, I find that annoying. However, the movie is still very entertaining and cute, if definitely hugely implausible and ridiculous.

The physics went off the roof here and it was very fun in that regard. This is a cartoon so it should not be scientifically accurate. Salmon Pink works because it is so endearing in the fish character. The salmon is absolutely adorable and so wonderful. The relationship between the two is superb and I loved seeing Pink get a pet for himself. The theater scenes are the comedic highlights this time around.

Salmon Pink is utterly ridiculous throughout, but undeniably endearing and charming in the fish character and the central relationship.

My Rating – 3.9
