Rocky Pink Review

Rocky Pink Review

Rocky Pink is a 1976 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

The Pink Panther adopts a pet rock, which is more trouble than it is worth. This is ridiculous. They actually made a film about a rock becoming alive and becoming Pink’s pet. But this is the obvious, natural progression to those many Pink Panther cartoons where he gets to adopt a pet, so ultimately it fits within the series, though it’s still too silly and stupid.

With all that being said, I ended up actually really liking this flick because it was so well executed from start to finish. It was unexpected and thus it had that surprising edge to it. The animation is strong and there are a couple of scenes here that are very well realized in terms of action and humor. It’s a fun cartoon.

Rocky Pink is ridiculous in plot, but actually rather good in execution. It’s entertaining throughout.

My Rating – 3.9
