Forty Pink Winks Review

Forty Pink Winks is a 1975 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

Trying to find somewhere to sleep, the Pink Panther sneaks into the Ritz Plaza Hotel, but has to avoid the hotel detective, the Little Man himself. The movie is of course quite amusing in the interactions between these two classic characters and it’s nice to see the Little Man being utilized in a classic way reminiscent of the first cartoons in the series.

However, the problem with this movie is that it’s all too simple and old-fashioned without adding anything new to the regular proceedings of such a situational comedy. Some moments are memorable, but most aren’t. The movie should have been better crafted in plot and humor, though the animation is per usual strong.

Forty Pink Winks is an old-fashioned short that lacks true momentum, but it has a solidly crafted plot nonetheless.

My Rating – 3.5
