Red Riding Hoodwinked Review

Red Riding Hoodwinked Review

Red Riding Hoodwinked is a 1955 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very funny short.

This is yet another one of Little Red Riding Hood parodies, but every single time Warner Bros. tackled this property, they made a great cartoon, so this one is no different. That reference to ‘The Honeymooners’ is clearly overly specific for today’s audiences, but the delivery is fantastic and that ending is hilarious with Granny being badass.

She is clearly different in design and also personality in this short and I am all for this change as she is much more memorable this time around. She stole the show from Tweety here, which was unfortunate, but the wolf is great, though oddly designed, and Sylvester is terrific per usual. I loved the dynamic between the two and the short manages to include merge these characters with the original fable characters rather smoothly.

Red Riding Hoodwinked merges the titular property with Sylvester and the gang rather smoothly. The humor is great and Granny is the MPV this time around.

My Rating – 4.3
