Pinky Doodle Review

Pinky Doodle Review

Pinky Doodle is a 1976 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

During the American Revolution, the Pink Panther is sent to notify townsfolk that the Redcoats are coming. This is a very different short that acts as this 18th century period piece that benefits from absolutely gorgeous, charming and incredibly polished animation that ranks among the best in the entire series.

However, although the premise is great and the beginning and also the ending are pretty good and fun, some plot points aren’t that great. The mid section with all that tail drama was overly silly and definitely acted like the movie’s filler material. I wished for more immediate historical details imbued into the film that has those, but still in scarce capacity.

Pinky Doodle is phenomenally animated, it has its good moments and the premise is strong, but the mid section is weaker and almost like a filler.

My Rating – 3.9
