Pinkfinger ReviewPinkfinger Review

Pinkfinger is a 1965 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

I really found this entry odd to a large degree. Yes, on the one hand, it was an original idea to do a ‘Goldfinger’ reference, and basically do a James Bond parody of sorts for this series. And it started off so well with that fine narration by Paul Frees and great music cues.

But later on unfortunately it became so much more problematic with the action that did not go anywhere, and an unfortunately forgettable ending. I did like the score, the animation and the atmosphere here, but overall the movie was lacking in terms of the humor and signature Pink Panther stuff.

Pinkfinger has its strong scenes and technical aspects, but the premise for it was too odd to ever really work.

My Rating – 3.6
