Pink Plasma Review

Pink Plasma Review

Pink Plasma is a 1975 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

While hiking in Transylvania, The Pink Panther accidentally encounters Count Dracula (the Little Man) in his haunted castle. This movie is one of those highly atmospheric Pink Panther outings that, while not eerie enough, at least somewhat successfully mimic a horror atmosphere with the technical aspects being the highlights.

The various chases can become repetitive here and the storytelling should have been better for this type of premise, but the castle looked terrific and detailed while the plethora of creatures inhabiting it were all quite memorable with the highlight of course being Count Dracula. He is played by the Little Man himself in what is one of his most amusing roles.

Overall, Pink Plasma could have been even better, but the animation is great and the Little Man steals the show this time around.

My Rating – 4

  1. Maybe I’m just overly skeptical, but does this episode not remind you of Transylvania 6-5000 from Merrie Melodies? Yeah know, the one where Bugs keeps physically abusing Dracula. There’s even a part where Dracula, as a bat, flies out the window, then changes back into a vampire, plummeting into a river.

  2. Hmm, interesting. I have yet to see the Bugs one, but when I do, I will see if the two are familiar. On the surface, they sure do look similar.
