Pink Aye ReviewPink Aye Review

Pink Aye is a 1974 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

The Pink Panther sneaks into the S.S. Lusitania, only to be chased around by the ship’s waiter (The Little Man). This is one of those messy shorts that are partly great and partly random in terms of scenes. The entire third act is just a bunch of stuff thrown in for good measure, including that alive chair. I found most of it not particularly good.

But the first half of the movie is pretty great, especially the scenes with the big fat female singer. She is very amusing. The rug scenes are also terrific as Pink really looks like a rug with his lanky look, so it was very believable and not overplayed. The animation is fantastic as well.

Pink Aye looks great and the first half is truly excellent, but the rest of the short could have been better.

My Rating – 3.8
