Injun Trouble Review

Injun Trouble Review

Injun Trouble is a 1969 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a subpar short.

Cool Cat, a hipster feline, drives in his dune buggy across the U.S. Southwestern desert and encounters a wacky Indian tribe. This was easily the worst Cool Cat cartoon for a number of reasons. One is that he just wasn’t as memorable this time around. The other bigger reason is the dated depiction of Native Americans.

It’s one of the more racist Looney Tunes shorts that was just as bad as those early 30s movies. The animation is okay and the movie overall is technically solid, but the gags did not work and they centered around archetypes that in today’s day and age either don’t exist or aren’t funny in the slightest.

Injun Trouble is a weak cartoon that ended the 60s decade in a mediocre way. This was the final theatrically released Looney Tunes short and it closed the worst era for the studio when it comes to their animated output.

My Rating – 3
