Hoppy Daze Review

Hoppy Daze is a 1961 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very forgettable, though solid short.

Sylvester gets coaching for mouse catching, but it turns out he chose the wrong place to practice because it’s Hippety Hopper’s territory. What I liked about this short is Sylvester of course as he is always hilarious when dealing with his fear and trauma related to Hopper. His lines here are consistently amusing.

The problem with this short is that there is nothing memorable to be found here at all. The animation is only okay, the overall storyline is very familiar and the flick goes through the motions with no great gags present. Hopper needed better treatment and the same goes for Sylvester Jr. who is simply missing here.

Hoppy Daze is funny in Sylvester’s lines of dialogue, but otherwise forgettable in plot and scenarios.

My Rating – 3.5
