Fright Before Christmas Review

Fright Before Christmas Review

Fright Before Christmas is a 1979 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series.

The Tasmanian Devil escapes from a plane and lands in Santa’s suit. After taking off in Santa’s sleigh he lands on Bugs’ roof where he tries to eat everything in sight including the present Bugs got for him. This is yet another 1979 Looney Tunes cartoon that did not turn out great. The animation is solid, the voice acting is fine and the characters’ behavior was on point.

But the movie’s plot was slim and Taz wasn’t utilized all that well here, which made the entire excursion forgettable. Bugs was also not as funny as he usually is this time around. The two had some great dynamic before, but in this short it was only okay. But above all else the lack of strong gags hurt it in the long run.

Fright Before Christmas is a weak Looney Tunes short that is well made, but seriously lacking in memorable gags.

My Rating – 3.3
