Feather Bluster Review

Feather Bluster Review

Feather Bluster is a 1958 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a nostalgic cartoon.

This is actually one of the most nostalgic Foghorn Leghorn cartoons for me as I remember seeing it multiple times on television as a kid. The short did not really stand the test of time for me as I now realize what I haven’t gotten before – it’s basically a filler short that uses three different cartoons that had been released previously.

These segments are pretty good, but they made the cartoon rather boring as I’ve seen all of this before. However, the only reason why this filler cartoon is better than others is those framing sequences. Those are fantastic. I loved seeing the older Foghorn and Dawg while their rivalry even leads to their grandchildren arguing and fighting. I loved those bits and I wanted more of those.

Feather Bluster is an uninspired filler, but at least the framing device used here was pretty solid and charming.

My Rating – 3.3
