Coyote Falls Review

Coyote Falls Review

Coyote Falls is a 2010 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series.

Wile E. Coyote has ordered an ACME bungee cord and has set up a birdseed trap under a highway bridge. It’s a “foolproof” plan that takes everything into consideration, except oncoming traffic. This movie was released in theaters in 2010 and it was the first 3D animated short in the series. Let’s talk about the animation. I disliked it of course. While the character designs are fine and faithful to their original forms, the overall aesthetics were too modern, polished and lacking a timeless quality.

What I did like here was the emphasis on those train tracks and the traffic as many of the best Road Runner shorts focused on those elements. The final gag was particularly well executed and the tracks were never as extensive as they were here with the sets being gorgeous. The score and sound are also quite good. It’s a solid short, but one that only lasts for 3 minutes, making for a ridiculously fleeting time to be had with these classic characters.

Coyote Falls is an overly short, too modern in visuals Road Runner cartoon that still had some solid gags and well realized train tracks.

My Rating – 3.5
