Bugs and Thugs is a 1954 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a derivative short.

This is basically a remake of ‘Racketeer Rabbit’, a film that was very good itself, but this one is so much weaker. The short is very similar to its predecessor, thus lacking originality to it. I also found the thugs quite forgettable, though Bugs per usual is terrific.

Yes, he is so funny here. Especially the scene where he could not shut up was hilarious. The same goes for a couple of other scenes, but most are not all that great. The animation is serviceable, but nothing to write home about. It’s just a solid, but lazy cartoon.

Bugs and Thugs has its funny scenes, but it’s overall a lazy remake with not much new to offer.
