Box-Office Bunny Review

Box-Office Bunny Review

Box-Office Bunny is a 1991 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series.

Bugs Bunny partakes of the multiplex cinema that has been instantly built over his hole over the objection of usher Elmer Fudd. This movie is so nostalgic as it will instantly remind you of the best Bugs Bunny cartoons from the fifties. It has everything – mayhem, hilarity and a great use of all three of these classic characters.

Bugs having to protect his habitat is a premise that always works for his cartoons and it was well explored here. The theater setting was well utilized for gags and the animation was polished and colorful. The voices are classical-sounding and terrific too. Bugs was excellent here and Elmer was also quite memorable, but it is my favorite Daffy who steals the movie. There is this one scene where he refuses to be a part of Bugs’ manipulative tactics, citing growth for his character. It was both hilarious and very satisfying. The only issue here was the five-minute runtime. It was too short, leading to a rushed ending.

Box-Office Bunny has a terrific pairing of Bugs, Elmer and Daffy. It is too short, but gorgeously animated and so much fun throughout. It’s classical in the best way possible.

My Rating – 4.2
