Alice Gets Stung Review

Alice Gets Stung Review

Alice Gets Stung is a 1925 animated short film from the Alice Comedies series. It’s a solid entry in the series.

Julius the Cat and Alice are hunting a wily rabbit when they come across a bear, among other animals. Alice attempts to shoot the bear, but the bear ends up chasing them into a barrel. This movie has very little of Alice in it. By this point in the series’ run, she had effectively been reduced to a supporting role, which was a real shame.

But the flick is solid and reasonably diverting nonetheless. The bear and the rabbit got into some somewhat amusing hijinks, both being pretty memorable. Some gags were pretty good here and the animation was also solid, though far from great or in any way artistic.

Alice Gets Stung is a solid Alice Comedies short that has some fine gags, but a weak plot and too much emphasis on animal hijinks.

My Rating – 3.7
