Wild Wild West Review

Wild Wild World Review

Wild Wild World is a 1960 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very subpar short.

Television host Cave Darroway introduces a recently unearthed Cro-Magnon man. This is the type of short that the Merry Melodies had done before and here it was overly familiar and inferior in quality. The only aspect here that’s pretty good is the animation as the movie looks great and polished.

The problem lies in the narration that is overly present and the plot that is almost non-existent. The movie is a one-joke plot that obviously becomes too repetitious and boring way too quickly. Merry Melodies when doing one-off shorts could be good, but this is one of those shorts that are dated in narration and framing, thus it holds little interest today.

Wild Wild World is well animated, but it’s a typically uninteresting, familiar short with annoying narration and a repetitious storyline.

My Rating – 3
