When I Yoo Hoo Review

When I Yoo Hoo is a 1936 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It’s a fun cartoon.

I did not care for its first half all that much as it was too much build up and not enough substance. The film is not overlong, but the first half is uneventful and that problem hurt it in the long run as it is otherwise a very solid, fun Merry Melody.

I really enjoyed the second half and that rooster fight was hilarious and so well executed both visually and in terms of choreography and of course humor. It is such a funny fight and ending and it compensated for a humorless first half. I also really enjoyed its animation as it is very pleasing with good character designs. The score’s also quite solid.

When I Yoo Hoo is weak in first half, but so amusing and funny in its fight in the second half.
