Tweety’s Circus Review

Tweety’s Circus Review

Tweety’s Circus is a 1955 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a solid short.

This is one of those circus cartoons and there were so many of them during the forties and fifties, unfortunately leading to this one not managing to stand out in the slightest. I needed some originality to it and simply Tweety himself wasn’t in his usual entertaining and funny element. Sylvester this time around is much more memorable.

Most of the movie doesn’t have all that memorable scenarios, but the lion was very well used as a friend to Tweety and as a foil to Sylvester. I wanted more scenes with him. The animation was solid, but nothing particularly remarkable. The same goes for the score.

Tweety’s Circus has a solid Sylvester and some good moments, but most of it was just solid enough without ever being particularly inspired in plot or action.

My Rating – 3.7
