Touché and Go Review

Touché and Go Review

Touché and Go is a 1957 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is an okay, forgettable short.

This is one of the more forgettable entries starring Pepe Le Pew. He is usually great, and he is very amusing here as well, but the short itself is only fleeting fun at a little bit less than six-minutes long. It needed a longer runtime and a more substantial plot to carry it through the finish line.

That is not to say that it doesn’t have its moments because it does. The entire marine setting did wonders for some sequences, in particular those on the dock and involving snorkeling. I loved the diving third act and the island ending was very charming and romantic. The movie has some fun scenes, but it needed more memorable action set pieces nonetheless.

Touché and Go has its moments and it’s quite charming, but it’s also fleeting in runtime and mostly forgettable.

My Rating – 3.6
