The Leghorn Blows at Midnight ReviewThe Leghorn Blows at Midnight Review

The Leghorn Blows at Midnight is a 1950 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a strong short.

Henery is back again to get himself some chicken, but of course Foghorn fools him into hunting a pheasant which he claims Dawg is. It’s a regular short for these characters and I personally wanted something different, especially in terms of action which wasn’t hugely memorable here.

But I did like all of the characters. Henery is hilarious per usual, Dawg is more competent than before and Leghorn is calculated and manipulative. I loved the use of his tune, that beginning was wonderful, and I also really liked that ending which was expectedly hilarious with Henery delivering such a funny line about cooking the loser while the two fight.

The Leghorn Blows at Midnight isn’t the most original short, but it does its job by giving every of the three characters justice through many amusing scenes.

My Rating – 4
