His Bitter Half Review
His Bitter Half is a 1950 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a weird, but solid flick.
The short involves Daffy Duck being made to care for one brute’s child despite him not wanting to. What I found weird about this film is that it introduced all of these duck characters such as Wentworth all of a sudden, and the end result is very rushed and frenetic.
What I liked about this short is its humor which is pretty strong, and especially Daffy’s role here which is excellent. He steals the show from all of these new characters who are fine themselves, but Daffy is so amusing in his lines of dialogue, and that final sequence is quite brutal and memorable.
His Bitter Half is weird and rushed, but overall quite entertaining and featuring reliably awesome Daffy Duck.
