Tabasco Road Review

Tabasco Road Review

Tabasco Road is a 1957 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very funny short.

Speedy Gonzales has to save his friends, Pablo and Fernando, from a large and hungry alley cat. The trouble is, they are inebriated, and would much rather pick a fight with the cat. This premise isn’t all that original and most of the action and plot developments were only solid here, but the dialogue elevated this material to much greater heights.

You see, Speedy and his friends have a tendency to speak with broken Spanish, and a couple of their lines cracked me up with their mixture of English and Spanish. The delivery is just hilarious. Speedy did not get a bunch of shorts during this period, but whenever he got one, it was bound to be hugely entertaining as is the case here. The animation is also great.

Tabasco Road continued the tradition of terrific shorts during this period in Looney Tunes history. The short is very funny and entertaining.

My Rating – 4.6
