Sahara Hare Review

Sahara Hare is a 1955 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid short.

Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny fight on the titular desert and the gags here are only solid. The second half is basically a series of set pieces with most not being all that memorable, though the animation throughout is terrific as is the sound. I loved the two, but Bugs is honestly not the highlight here with Sam being more memorable.

But the standout is Daffy. He actually steals the show in that little moment that he got in the final moment. It was unexpected and all the funnier for it. The final line from Bugs was also hilarious. I wish the rest of the short was as strong, though the Sahara setting is beautifully realized for sure.

Sahara Hare is definitely not all that memorable, but the animation is great and the ending is hilarious.

My Rating – 3.7
