Robin Hood Daffy Review

Robin Hood Daffy Review

Robin Hood Daffy is a 1958 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a pretty good cartoon.

I was personally not all that thrilled with this short. Having in mind that the series had already parodied Robin Hood up to this point, this short did not feel all that original nor was it particularly clever to be honest. The gags could have been better overall.

Still though, Daffy is as endearing as he always is. Porky is also pretty good himself. The two make for a terrific pairing here and their dynamic steals the short of course. Another highlight is a wonderful animation that is very lively in its greenery and lush landscapes, making the action itself better in the process.

Robin Hood Daffy has a familiarity problem, but the animation and the central character dynamic make it worth watching nonetheless.

My Rating – 3.8
