Rabbitson Crusoe Review

Rabbitson Crusoe is a 1956 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very fun parody short.

In the tradition of many parodies before it, this Looney Tunes short takes a crack at Robinson Crusoe, and the results are delightful, if not particularly memorable. The casting of Yosemite Sam in the main role was top-notch and that shark was also very well used into the plot.

Bugs is quite amusing here and there are some scenes where he makes fun of Sam so well, but the highlight for me was the small tidbit where he sang the chorus of the great Secret Love. This series always had great song parodies and this is one of the better ones in recent memory. I wish the action itself was more memorable, though, as it was just okay.

Overall, Rabbitson Crusoe is only okay in action scenes, but it’s amusing enough with solidly utilized characters.

My Rating – 3.8
