Pluto and the Armadillo ReviewPluto and the Armadillo Review

Pluto and the Armadillo is a 1943 Mickey Mouse cartoon. It is such a sweet flick.

On their way to Rio de Janeiro, Pluto finds an armadillo in the forest and starts playing with it. I personally found the action underwhelming as many of those scenes could have been more entertaining and the infatuation part bothered me as Disney does it way too often, but other than that, this is one very enjoyable short which is very endearing in the characters’ interactions.

I loved that armadillo. He is superbly animated and his movements are particularly polished. Pluto steals the show per usual and how he came to care for the little guy was wonderful to witness. The score is also pleasingly Latin and the animation’s terrific. I also appreciated how they explained this movie’s plot meaning that the setup was believable and Mickey was superbly incorporated into it all.

Pluto and the Armadillo has its setbacks, but it’s so endearing and easy to love with great character interactions and very strong animation.

My Rating – 4
