Mystic Pink Review

Mystic Pink is a 1976 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

The Pink Panther finds a magician’s top hat, complete with a large rabbit who follows him around. I am definitely always up for these magic-oriented cartoons, but this one should have been better, though it has its strengths, in particular the stellar, very polished animation with some very memorable imagery.

I simply found the rabbit overly hyperactive and frankly even annoying at times. Some of his moments are very amusing, but most of the second half was tiresome, especially the infatuation with a girl trope felt unnecessary to me. I liked the changing of Pink’s size, that was a lot of fun, but other scenarios weren’t as interesting as the size ones.

Mystic Pink has a solid premise, good animation and some interesting scenes, but it should have been more memorable in its scenarios.

My Rating – 3.6
