Mickey's Good Deed ReviewMickey’s Good Deed Review

Mickey’s Good Deed is a 1932 Mickey Mouse cartoon. It is a phenomenal entry.

In this Great Depression short, Mickey is homeless and trying to make a living on the street. He has to sell Pluto for money to help a starving family and eventually the two reunite. This is a wonderful film with such a beautiful story, but it is a shame that it’s so melodramatic with not an ounce of fun or humor in it whatsoever.

This is one of the quintessential Mickey/Pluto pairings as their friendship here is just wonderful to witness. Of course its happy ending steals the show as the most emotional and best moment in the film. It’s probably even my favorite scene in the entire series so far. The rest is not as memorable, but the story is well done, interestingly serious and the animation is strong.

Mickey’s Good Deed lacks in humor, but it compensates that in excellent storytelling and evident emotion.

My Rating – 4
