I Gopher You is a 1954 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a fun short.
Two polite twin gophers are indignant at the swiping of all their vegetables by “vandals” in trucks. They follow the trucks to a food processing plant and become caught in the machinery when they try to retrieve their property. That is the basic premise behind this admittedly amusing, but very weak flick.
The animation is solid and the film’s charming enough. I found the two gophers fun in their dynamic and the ending is quite entertaining. However, the film is weakly plotted and never particularly funny. It’s mostly just forgettable and also way too talkative.
