Honey’s Money Review

Honey’s Money Review

Honey’s Money is a 1962 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a pretty odd cartoon.

This is pretty much a remake or I would say a rehash of ‘His Bitter Half’. That Daffy Duck cartoon was superb and hilarious, but this one was tiresome and nowhere near as funny as the original. It has its moments, but that’s pretty much it. I liked Yosemite Sam here and the crocodile scene was quite entertaining.

However, the main issue here is that this is his only solo movie, meaning that he is not paired with Bugs Bunny or anybody else for that matter. The resulting product is very strange as he needed some other character as a counterpoint to his antics. The wife was forgettable and the child was totally boring. The animation is fine, but the overall gags needed to have been much better.

Honey’s Money has some solid moments and a fine Yosemite Sam, but no other memorable character and its rehashed plot was mediocre.

My Rating – 3.4
