Gong with the Pink ReviewGong with the Pink Review

Gong with the Pink is a 1971 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

The Pink Panther takes a job in a Chinese restaurant that places orders by gong beats, but unintentionally causes mayhem to the Little Man, who owns the glass shop above the restaurant. This is one of the stronger shorts in recent memory, though it felt rushed and not that well edited. I found the first half quite inferior to the second one in terms of memorable scenes.

But the ending is very funny and every moment with the gong was so well executed. This movie makes use of its Chinese setting and this object so well while also portraying phenomenal, confident, badass Pink. He destroyed the Little Man here and it was very amusing following his anger and frustrations throughout the cartoon. The animation’s also nice.

Gong with the Pink is at first inferior, but then it becomes quite a lot of fun with Pink being cool and the Little Man being so funny.

My Rating – 3.8
