Foxy by Proxy is a 1952 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is not a great movie.

This one is very odd in its story and approach. It tries to incorporate way too many ideas and plot points, and that indecisiveness led to it crumbling toward the finish line. I personally found the whole fox and hound affair tiresome, and the ending is particularly silly in all of that midair nonsense.

Bugs, however, is reliably terrific. Him insulting the dog throughout was very funny as many of those lines were excellent in a typically bitchy fashion for the bunny. I also liked the animation, and I loved the charming opening sequence with a great score and panning shots. I wish the rest of the flick was as interesting.

Foxy by Proxy has its moments for sure, and Bugs himself is great, but others not so much, and the movie has an odd ending.
